Professor Kate Miriam Loewenthal is a qualified Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, accredited by EMDR Europe since 2017. With additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), counselling, and ego-state interventions, she has been practicing psychotherapy focused on trauma since 2016. Her therapeutic work is primarily research-oriented, exploring the intersections of trauma, religious faith, and recovery. She engages in regular supervision, including monthly EMDR sessions and weekly psychodynamic therapy group meetings, ensuring the highest standards of practice. Her research in this area has been published in works such as Trauma and Religious Faith (2022) and presented at international conferences.
